In the morning I think about spending another night in Emden. But there is no free room in the hotel, so I decide to move on. But first I bring my package to the postal store that contains all the stuff I think I won't need for the last few days. My luggage is now nearly 6kg lighter. Afterwards I drop in at a hairdresser to get a haircut. My last one was weeks ago in Norway.
Around 11 a.m. I finally move on. For the first time in days I have a head wind again. The route mostly follows the dike. Sometime during the day I receive a text message telling me that I'm in the paper again, this time at home in the Allerzeitung. No idea how they heard about me. I guess that's the work of my parents...
In the afternoon the general direction of travel turns from north to east. Now I have a tail wind again.
I stop at a nice camping site near Norddeich. The buildings containing the office and the sanitary facilities are old, the former home of Radio Norddeich, a coastal radio station. Nice and airy facilities.
However, the spot reserved for tents is a swamp. Luckily there is a small hill, just a few feet higher than the surroundings, where I put my tent.
In the evening I cycle to Norddeich and its harbour.
