Around the Pond: 5000 km on the North Sea Cycle Route

Still nothing in the mail. Today is Saturday, that means I have to stay at least until Monday.

The day starts rainy, and stays that way. As I return from taking my morning shower my tent looks a bit askew. The tent pole that broke a few days ago, which I had repaired with the repair sleeve, has broken again. I try to repair the break with the second repair sleeve, but as I try to bend the pole it breaks again. There is little chance of getting a fitting tent pole, so I guess it's time to get a new tent.

The guy at the reception tells me the way to a mall nearby. I ride there on my bike. In a sporting goods store I buy a new tent, a McKinley "Manitu 3". Again a tunnel tent, in the same price region as the Wechsel tent. Let's hope this tent is more durable. I'd have preferred a Hilleberg tent, but the store doesn't carry them.

Back to the camping site. I pitch the new tent, and move all my stuff. Looks good so far.
