Around the Pond: 5000 km on the North Sea Cycle Route

In the morning I call the bicycle shop in Uelzen about the replacement guidance wheel. He would be able to send a new one, but with regular mail this would take a few days, and it probably won't be here before the weekend. I really don't want to wait that long. He suggests putting some kind of rubber rings on the guidance wheel to stop the noise. In a supermarket I buy an inner tube for a bicycle, and cut it up to get rings. They stretch just enough to fit the wheel. I'll have to see, if and how long this works.

I use the rest day to do some laundry, and prepare text and pictures for my travel blog. Internet connection via my mobile phone still doesn't work, and the camping site has no WLAN.

On a hill above Hirtshals is an old lighthouse, and some 50 german bunkers preserved as a museum. I climb the old lighthouse, and ride down to the harbour watching the ships.
