Around the Pond: 5000 km on the North Sea Cycle Route

The rest day has helped, cycling comes much easier today. The wind is still unfavorable, but not as strong as in the last days. The weather is changeable, sunny, but with a cold wind and a shower now and then.

The route is the most beautiful yet. North of Vejers the NSCR leads through low coast forests, then comes a series of elongated peninsulas consisting mainly of dunes. The cycle path leads through the dunes, but the gravel and sand is unpleasant to navigate with the recumbent bike. I ride on the road instead.

Towards the evening I reach Thorsminde in the middle of such an peninsular. Shortly before I arrive I get drenched by another rain shower. I pitch my tent in the rain.

I'm still trying to find Internet access to update my blog. The camping site doesn't have WLAN, but at least a few Internet PCs. Or so I am told. I couldn't get them to work, though. The blog has to wait a little longer. At least I can prepare the texts and pictures on my net book.
